Trip description

During this trip, you'll learn more about the history of kick sledging and why it's such a beloved means of transportation. You'll have the opportunity to borrow a kick sled, and together we'll explore the experience of kicking, try out different techniques, and perhaps even dare to form a kick sled convoy!

We'll meet outside Umeå University Hospital on Saturday morning at 09:45 (entrance North) to catch the bus to Tavelsjö departing at 10:00. Once there, we'll find our kick sleds for the day and embark on a journey on the ice. When we reach a suitable resting spot, we'll pause for lunch. During this time, we'll get to know more about the fascinating history of kick sledging and its versatile applications. Satisfied and content, we'll then make our way back to summarize the day and take the bus back to Umeå, were we expect to be home around 16:00-17:00.
