IKSU klättring is one of IKSU’s 16 sections, working to create a sense of community among climbers and to develop climbing as a sport in and around Umeå. The section's ambition is to organize activities for its members, and these activities may vary from year to year.
We are responsible for “Monday Climbing,” a bookable, instructor-led climbing session aimed at creating opportunities for climbers to connect with each other. Other initiatives are more social in nature, such as movie nights, taco evenings, or barbecues where we gather to share climbing stories.
Our flagship competition is Novemberdraget – the largest climbing competition in northern Sweden, attracting around 200 participants from across the region. We also organize smaller competitions in all three Olympic disciplines.
