Informationpage swimming school

Warm welcome to IKSU's swimming school!

You can see your course booking under My Pages when you log in at www.iksu.se

Start week 2 - a short information session for parents will be held during the first lesson
Clothes swimming week 7
Conclusion week 11 (Thursday groups week 12)

During the course, questions about what the child needs to practice can be briefly answered by the swimming instructors before/after the lesson.

Replacement sessions

Here you can find replacement sessions for canceled lessons.

Membership in the association

To participate in the swimming school, the child must be a member of the IKSU association. Membership is personal and costs 200 SEK per calendar year, and includes sports insurance.

Membership should be paid at the reception during the start week.

Entry

Access Code

The access code for the swimming school will be sent via email or SMS. The code is valid for the entire course.

The code works 30 minutes before the swimming school starts and during the entire lesson. The code is only valid at the gates by the reception. Let the child go through the gate first.

Even those with an IKSU card should use the code for access. This helps the reception staff know where you are going with your child.

Changing rooms

  • We recommend changing rooms 6 and 7 adjacent to the swimming pool.
  • The child should shower and wash their hair before putting on swimwear.
  • The child should have gone to the toilet before the swimming school starts.
  • Long hair should be tied up with a hairband.

Safety in connection with the swimming school

A parent, or another responsible adult, must ensure that the regular activities are ongoing and that the child is supervised.

Handover

The swimming school takes place in the small pool, Bottenviken. Wait outside the doors to Bottenviken until the swimming instructors open them. The child's parent, or another responsible adult handing over the child, is responsible for the child's safety until the swimming instructors take over. Handover and pickup of the child take place inside Bottenviken. The parent must come into Bottenviken to pick up the child.

Clothes swimming

The lesson begins with clothes swimming, and the children shower as usual beforehand and put on swimwear, followed by dry, clean clothes for the clothes swimming (tight long-sleeved shirt and tight long pants, like pajamas or thermal underwear). Socks are not needed.

Absence

The swimming instructors take attendance on site. Absences do not need to be reported.

Completion

Here you will see what the children have learned, and we will conclude with ice cream. The child will receive a certificate for the swimming badges earned and a recommendation for the next course. Swimming badges can be purchased at the reception upon presentation of the certificate.

Note! Save the certificate to register for the correct group during priority registration.

Only the swimming instructors can provide recommendations for the next group, so be sure to save the certificate. Course certificates will not be sent; if you are unable to attend the conclusion, the certificate can be picked up at the reception at IKSU sport.

Please note that diplomas will be emailed after the course is completed.

Good to know

You are welcome to use the large pool, Nordsjön, to practice swimming in connection with the swimming school. An adult must always be in the water. The swimming hall is not supervised by lifeguards.

Parents without an IKSU card must pay for entry on these occasions.

Note! We avoid playing and jumping in Nordsjön out of consideration for our exercisers.

Priority registration

Those of you who participated in the swimming school during the spring of 2025 have the opportunity to register for priority for the next round. Booking is on Monday, March 17th at 12:00.

Priority registration means you get first access to the spots, on a first-come, first-served basis.

You have a two-week right of withdrawal after the course has started.
