IKSU innebandy
Fast and technical—whether you're a female veteran or in a wheelchair!
IKSU innebandy is one of IKSU’s 16 sections and was founded in 1988. The section originally included both men’s and women’s teams. Since 1996, when the men’s team was relegated from Division 1, the section has focused solely on women's floorball.
IKSU innebandy has achieved great sporting success, winning 6 Swedish Championship (SM) gold medals and 7 European Cup titles since its inception.
In 2020, a new chapter began when the board made the difficult decision to withdraw the team from the Swedish Super League (SSL). It was a painful but inevitable choice, prompted by the tough financial situation IKSU faced during the pandemic. The SSL team had been a great source of pride for the club—pioneers, highly professional athletes, and outstanding representatives of our organization. We sincerely wish all the players who continue their athletic careers the best of luck and hope they find strong platforms for further development and success.
Despite the women’s team stepping away, the section remained. From the autumn of 2020, the core of the section’s activity has been the wheelchair floorball team. In the fall of 2021, a veteran team was also formed, and both groups now hold regular weekly training sessions at IKSU.
