Do you enjoy mountain biking and want to join us on an overnight trip along the scenic Isälvsleden trail north of Vindeln? Join us on a cycling adventure across beautiful dune landscapes with mighty gravel ridges and a fairytale-like old-growth pine forest!
We gather at IKSU sport on Saturday morning at 9.30 am to collect the bikes, and then head to Åmsele by cars. When we arrive at the start of the Isälvsleden trail, we have something to eat before we start cycling.
We then cycle south in a group until we reach the overnight stop (Missutjärn) where we set up our tents and cook dinner together over an open fire. It is also a good place to take a refreshing swim. On Sunday morning after breakfast, we pack up our tents and leave them with a leader, and then cycle on to Vindeln. When we arrive at Vindeln, our cars will already be there, and we will load the bikes and go home to Umeå. We plan to be home at the latest around 16 pm.
The ice river trail is an approximately 60 km long trail, between Vindeln and Åmsele. The trail stretches through a unique landscape that has been ravaged by the ice sheet. Here there are beautiful dune landscapes with mighty gravel ridges, fairytale-like old pine forests and beaches that are parts of the county's largest sand dunes.
