Beginner intake autumn 2026: Right now you can try kendo, valid all of September, try twice for free!
Training time: Tuesdays 17.15–18.30
Location: IKSU sport, Newcastle
Age: 8–14
Cost: 1000:- (price includes a shinai, bamboo sword)
Head instructor: Carl Papworth (5 dan)
The course ends with grading (for those who want) where you have the opportunity to take your first degree!

Wait ... what is kendo?
Kendo is a Japanese martial art where you use a shinai, the Japanese bamboo sword. It is a sport where you get to sweat, learn body control, respect and focus. Awesome for both the heart and the brain!
This autumn we continue our junior group in Umeå. Are you between 8–14 and want to learn to fence like a samurai? Then kendo is the right sport for you!
Ps. If you are older and want to try kendo, you are welcome to join the adult group (15 +)
